Many people take so many things for granted, it is simply unbelievable. I wonder how many people would enjoy a nice steak dinner if they had to go out back and butcher the cow? Would they know how to grow the vegetables and fruits? Would they know which plants you could grow close together, and which plants would harm each other? Hmm. That's just the beginning of my thoughts!

(I walk around in barefeet all the time, because I'm from the country. People still don't understand that I can feel the ground better, etc.)

I know you will be happy to be home, and everyone will be happy to have you home. Nice and safe. ;)

I shall keep praying for your teams and you, your family and friends. God bless you, my friend, and be careful. Godspeed.

PS. I hope your 'package' reaches you before you leave. There is some goodies for the children. :)Rosemary Welchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14400569923078517570noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1070229262860530921.post-8245379414660954062008-03-06T20:39:00.000+04:302008-03-06T20:39:00.000+04:30Thank you, my friend, for your sacrifice and dedic...Thank you, my friend, for your sacrifice and dedication. You write beautifully and I'm grateful for the insights. Hope you keep turning it out when you're back.

Take care and get home safe. You really prime the pump of cognitive thought.

I suspect that same arrogance is a systemic part of the human makeup. I suspect it is the reason that so many officers (guilty as charged) come across as holier-than-thou. I suspect most people are aware of their shortcomings, and just bury them. But you can't hear "Greatest Nation on Earth" too many times without starting to feel invested in the concept.

I greatly look forward to your post-deployment writings. Keep safe, and may the reaminder of your tour be boring.admiyohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10559086516587174707noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1070229262860530921.post-61423174531603278162008-03-03T10:21:00.000+04:302008-03-03T10:21:00.000+04:30Just a word of advice upon your return to American...Just a word of advice upon your return to American soil: Don't turn on the television. And I don't mean avoid the news reports. I mean steer clear of so-called "reality" programming. It's truly surreal what passes for entertainment in the twisted world of Hollywood these days. We've advanced way beyond the materialism of the "Price is Right". The entertainment industry's incessant message comes across loud and clear: "It's not enough to merely grab as much as you can - to be a 'real winner' you have to make sure everyone else loses." Backstabbing has come of age.

But I trust that in time, you'll be able to see past the social differences with your fellow citizens (just as you've done with your ANP colleagues). Despite the narcissistic norms of American culture, there are still wonderful people who (like you) strive toward a goal bigger than feeding their own already-bloated egos.

One last thing, please accept our thanks (by which I mean, "Don't deflect the thanks we express"). You won't hear the words "thank you" enough. But when you do, please don't let there be an awkward silence. Just reply, "It was an honor to have served." We, who have so much to be thankful for, are so poor in opportunities to express gratitude - don't rob us of the satisfaction of honoring those who merit our praise.

Well, I've given more than enough unsolicited advice. I guess all that's left for me to say is, "Thank you!"Bobhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10120554561277504589noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1070229262860530921.post-45062405022680768262008-03-03T08:21:00.000+04:302008-03-03T08:21:00.000+04:30I just want to say that I really enjoy reading you...I just want to say that I really enjoy reading your blog.
